The long-standing St John's tradition of the Form 6 'Passion Play' continued this year but with a new look and the production was performed to a predominantly standing audience and in a highly immersive way with the story unravelling all over the Hall and on the stage too. "Our vision is that the audience will literally be in the story." (Head of Drama, Tim Clarke) As well as the immersive feel to the play, the script was also transformed after Head of Drama's inspirational trip to see the world-famous Oberammergau 'Passion Play' in Germany last year. This telling of the Passion

The children in Form 4 visited Stibbington Village and Education Centre near Peterborough and travelled back in time to the year 1896. Dressed in Victorian skirts and mop caps, or breeches and cloth caps, the young Victorians were given identities of children who actually went to Stibbington School during Queen Victoria’s era. The visit included a taste of Victorian school life. The children discovered that Victorian teachers were very strict; every time a child answered a question, they had to stand up to speak and woe betide anyone who tried to write with their left hand or ended up

Palaeontologist, Jamie Jordan, from ‘Fossils Galore’ shop in March, Cambridgeshire, gave the children in Kindergarten an insightful talk about the discovery of a plesiosaur which was unearthed a few years ago in the county. He uncovered the skeleton of the underwater marine reptile, thought to be a type of plesiosaur from the Jurassic era, after being contacted by a metal detectorist who came across some bones that were in a farmer’s field, and he then contacted ‘Fossils Galore’ to have a look and see if it was worth excavation. The bones were found back in 2019 on a site beside the A14

Form 4 took a journey to 'infinity and beyond' when they entered the immersive Space Dome to explore our planets, moon, sun and solar system, to see how they move and what we see in the sky. The children went star-spotting in the Cambridge night sky to discover the constellations as they would appear that night and also discovered the stories behind them through the gods and heroes, myths and monsters from Ancient Greece. They watched 360 degrees video clips, including the iconic Apollo Lunar Module Eagle landing on the moon in 1969 with Commander Neil Armstrong and Lunar Module Pilot '
