A dedicated and well-qualified Classics Teacher is required to join an established department from September 2018.

The post is full time, teaching Classics to children in the Year 5 to Year 8 age range, or combining this with one or more subject specialisms; experience of teaching Games and/or Maths will be an advantage.  The ability to teach Ancient Greek would be welcome, but is not essential.  All teachers will wish to play a full part in the life of the school, including contributing to both the pastoral care and tutoring system and the wide range of extra-curricular activities.  Although not residential, accommodation may be available for candidates wishing to contribute to the care of choristers and boarders.

St John’s College School is an independent co-educational school with 460 children aged 4-13, which has long enjoyed a national reputation for the exceptional quality of education and care it provides. 

The successful candidate will hold QTS status, and have a good honours degree and a PGCE in an appropriate discipline, together with a successful teaching record in the relevant age group.
