Second Star to the Right: T2 Bring 'Peter Pan' to Life

Body

As Peter Pan himself reminds us, “All children except one grow up.” But for one magical afternoon, T2 transported us to Neverland, proving that imagination and adventure never truly fade.

What you are able to achieve with children still so young is truly amazing, and they all looked like they were having the most tremendous fun in the process too.

From the first note to the final bow, the children embraced the spirit of J.M. Barrie’s beloved tale, delivering a vibrant, heartwarming production that celebrated the wonder of childhood with their own spin on this beloved story. Joyful dances and expressive songs filled the stage, with each child embodying the playful energy of Peter Pan, the wisdom of Wendy, and the mischievous charm of the Lost Boys.

How wonderful it is that you involve all the children, and what a fantastic job you did focusing them (and the parents) and leading them through the adventure with such great narration. Seeing all the kids dance with joy and abandon to applause at the end as they were celebrated will be a core memory.

Seamless transitions between characters kept the momentum lively, with comedic moments woven effortlessly throughout. One particularly memorable exchange saw Wendy, attempting to take charge of the rambunctious Lost Boys, declare, “Good luck, it’s harder than you think!”—a remark that drew hearty laughter from the audience, who no doubt sympathised with her newfound parental woes.

Many congratulations on yet another storming success of a production!

The production kept audiences engaged with well-timed humor, dramatic entrances, and visual storytelling that balanced adventure with sentiment. They laughed at the witty exchanges, clapped enthusiastically to show their belief in fairies, and gasped as Captain Hook and the audacious crocodile made their thrilling appearances.

The performance was a true testament to the children’s dedication, teamwork, and love for the arts. Through confident delivery, enthusiasm, and playful energy, they reminded everyone that with imagination, a sprinkle of pixie dust, and a fearless heart, the magic of childhood remains forever alive.

What an absolutely outstanding performance all the children put on yesterday, their energy and enjoyment was palpable, and I could have watched them perform again and again and again.
