Christmas Festivities

Body

The last Thursday before the Christmas holidays is always one of the most anticipated days of the year at St John’s. Festive jumpers and sparkly attire made the atmosphere jolly before the day had officially begun.

The children were treated to a delicious Christmas lunch and were served by their teachers with traditional turkey and all the trimmings with Christmas pudding and mince pies. The tables were elaborately decorated with pretty tablecloths, crackers and the must-have festive tangerines. Cries of delight and multiple ‘bangs’ were heard all over the dining hall as party hats and puzzles were excavated from the remains of Christmas crackers. Excitement at Byron House reached fever pitch when Father Christmas arrived to greet the children and tell them about what he was up to before handing out goody bags for each class to enjoy.

The budding thespian teachers at St John’s once again did not disappoint with their modern take on the well-known fairy tale Snow White. The entertaining script included humorous lines, singing, dance routines and much audience participation. The children (and teachers) left school in high spirits and ready for the Christmas season to begin.
