As part of their upcoming transition from Byron House to Senior House in the Michaelmas Term, our Form 2 pupils recently enjoyed an exciting and heartwarming introduction to life in their new setting: meeting and spending time with their future Form 6 buddies.
In the run-up to our main school Saturday Sports Day 2025, the field came alive with excitement for Pre-Prep Sports Day. Children from KG, T1 and T2 took part in a joyful afternoon of races.
Just before the end of term, the Charities Committees from both Byron House and Senior House came together to host a heartwarming afternoon tea for local senior citizens. It was a wonderful event that blended hospitality, community spirit, and music, leaving smiles on the faces of all who attended.

St John’s ended the term on a high note with the exciting announcement that it has been shortlisted in the Performing Arts category of the Independent School of the Year Awards 2025. This follows last year’s proud win in the Pre-Prep category, reinforcing the school’s ongoing commitment to creativity, community, and courageous learning.
What a memorable Trips Week it was for our Senior House pupils as they wrapped up the academic year with trips and activities alongside their friends and teachers. Children from Forms 3 to 6 enjoyed a wonderful blend of adventure, teamwork, and fun—creating lasting memories.
As we come to the end of the academic year, we extend our heartfelt thanks and fondest farewell to Mr Neil Chippington, Head of St John’s since 2016. Over the past nine years, Mr Chippington has guided the School with unwavering dedication, warmth and vision—fostering a culture of curiosity, kindness and aspiration that has left a lasting legacy.
Pupils at Senior House recently enjoyed a very special lunchtime, turning an ordinary midday break into a lively summer celebration with a BBQ and Jazz in the Piazza, courtesy of our 'Rednotes' Band.
Every Michaelmas Term, Senior House hosts the much-anticipated ‘St John’s Got Talent’. T2’s Got Talent lit up Byron House recently with joy and creativity—a heartwarming celebration where every child had the chance to shine and share what makes them unique.
Form 2 enjoyed an unforgettable day of adventure and discovery at Grafham Water, packed with exciting activities and new experiences, including canoeing, mountain biking and pioneering. We are incredibly proud of the children for embracing each challenge, learning new skills, and showing such fantastic teamwork.
