One of our Form 6 pupils has demonstrated outstanding mathematical talent after qualifying for the prestigious Grey Kangaroo round of the Intermediate Maths Challenge. Entering the competition independently to push her mathematical abilities, she has surpassed expectations with a string of impressive achievements.
The UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge is a 60 minute, 25 multiple choice Challenge. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought and fluency to make pupils think.
The problems on the Intermediate Maths Challenge are designed to make pupils think, most are accessible yet still challenge those with more experience.
Her journey began with a stellar performance in the first round, where she earned a coveted gold certificate—an extraordinary accomplishment for someone in Year 8. Now, her success continues, as she secures a silver certificate in the Grey Kangaroo round, further cementing her place among the country’s top young mathematicians.
